Dear Ma: I'd really like to attend the 52 & 21 Reunion on June 18th, but my parents want me to get a summer job mowing lawns to help towards my college fund and that will take up all of my Saturdays. Plus my girlfriend has been pleading with me to attend an autograph-signing party for that guy from "The Notebook" at Barnes and Noble that afternoon. I didn't take her to see it in the theatre last summer because of the Post 4th of July Party. And I didn't stay home over Christmas Break and watch it on video with her because I went on the Post Ski Trip. I'm really in dutch with her if I don't come through this time. What should I do?

Dear Steven: I think getting a summer job is a fine idea and I see no reason why you can't manage your mowing schedule so that you can make the reunion by 4:00 p.m. on the 18th. As for the autograph-signing party, just tell your girlfriend that you were watching "E" the other night and saw where that guy is just an incredible boar when he's not in character and that you wouldn't want to spoil her enjoyment of the movie by subjecting her to that. Then there will be no reason why you can't attend the reunion. Besides, I've seen "The Notebook," and it's just awful!
